Eye Surgery

Mr Patel and Mr Sira are highly experienced ophthalmologists with a special interest in oculoplastics (eyelid surgery) and are available for private appointments. Our highly skilled ophthalmology consultants (eye surgeons) can diagnose, treat and help prevent an array of eye conditions.

Cosmetic eyelid surgery (Blepharoplasty)

Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure that consists of removing or repositioning excess skin and fat around the eyelids. Ageing causes your skin to lose its elasticity, and the subsequent appearance of excess skin and fat can give you a tired, puffy faced look. Blepharoplasty surgery is a common cosmetic procedure that is effective in treating hooded eyelids and reducing eye bags. Eyelid surgery can help rejuvenate and refresh your appearance.

Droopy Eyelid (Ptosis)

Ptosis is the medical name for drooping of the upper eyelid, which can be present in one or both eyes. It can interfere with the vision and may also be a cosmetic problem. Ptosis commonly occurs with ageing but can also be present from birth (congenital). Ptosis correction is usually done under local anaesthetic and can be combined with a blepharoplasty procedure.

In-turning Eyelid (Entropian)

Entropian is the medical term to describe an inward turning eyelid which tends to occur in older age. It mainly affects the lower eyelid and causes the lashes to rub on the eye causing irritation, redness and tearing. Entropian surgery is usually performed under local anaesthetic.

Out-turning Eyelid (Ectropian)

Ectropian is the medical term to describe an outward turning and lax lower eyelid. It can lead to excessive tearing and irritation of the eye. Ectropian surgery is usually performed under local anaesthetic.
